JIM JONES covers the current issue of Complex and of course he’s joined by his man-ager (wait, i didn’t say that) DAMON DASH (Who’s reportedly broke and unable to pay $800 a month lease on a Suburban). But in all seriousness, The Black Al Capone has got a lot going on right now and has been seen recently in the company of everyone from Dash (who’s currently got a documentary with Jones), Will Smith and even the Vogue EIC Anna Wintour.
But I think everyone would agree, despite all that Jim’s got going on, it’s what Dash says during the interview that has everyone talking. According to Jay-Z’s former business partner - who is still bitter behind the split - things are not what they appear between Hov and his little brother, one Mr. Kanye West. check out the excerpt from the article below:
Dame: He [Kanye] hated Jay-Z ever since he wouldn’t give him a fucking Rocawear chain in Chicago! I’m telling you.
Jim Jones: I don’t know if the song “Big Brother” was correct, but he might’ve hated him since he didn’t give him those tickets to Madison Square Garden.
Damon Dash: This was before that. He was already in full hate by that time. [Laughs.] This nigga [Kanye] was like, “Wow, he ain’t going to give me the chain.” I had to take off my chain and give it to him, and I was heated. I had the real canary diamonds. That shit cost $40,000! I told Kanye, “Yo, you got to give that back when we get off this stage!”
Say what you will about Jim, his personal politics or even his business partner - but no one can deny the risk Jim took earlier this month when he brought Hiphop to Broadway with his stage play Inside The Mind Of Jim Jones. The show opened for two nights to mixed reviews but the general consesus was positive. And who can be mad at out-the-box thinking.
