Alright, we have reported on this CHRIS BROWN & RIHANNA story since it broke on Sunday evening and I have tried to remain neutral and very clear on the facts of this case.
But since Monday morning certain media outlets and blogs have reported SO many false truths regarding this very heartbreaking incident that I feel it’s important to clarify somethings.
While they are both celebrities, and to some extent have made a great deal of money while inviting us into their lives, this incident has gone beyond entertainment.
Rihanna is not physically hurt. Robin Fenty – the 20 year old girl from Barbados – is the one in pain right now. She is the one that at the end of the day, will have to deal with what has happened to her.
And Chris Brown – Mr. ‘Kiss Kiss’ & ‘Take You Down’ – Is not the man that’s being accused of some VERY serious things. But rather it is Christopher Brown – the 19 year old, goofy boy from VA – who has just gotten a taste of how real life is.
Now, I’m not defending ANYONE. FSL has tried to stick to only the facts and we will continue to do so. But as you read through the MASSIVE amounts of coverage on this case, PLEASE remember the following:
1. These are kids. While they probably have more money than you, and they’ve seen more of the world, they aren’t as mature as their passports and wardrobes might leave you to believe. How perfectly mature were you at 19 and 20?
2. According to the LAW, Rihanna has been victimized. She has been charged with NOTHING. She is hurt – and while her physical wounds will heal in time, there will be mental scarring left behind. So dead all these rumors about the girl.
3. What if Chris was your son? Your brother? Your nephew? Would you be calling for his head?
4. And this is the most important thing – We may NEVER know what happened in that car that night. We may never know what caused this fight. But stop for a second and think about the last argument you had with your mate/boyfriend/partner/spouse…Think about how private and personal it was. Now ask yourself – How would you feel if that fight (No matter HOW it ended) became the topic of rumors and conversation EVERYWHERE?
Chris’ aunt Christine Brown (Joyce Hawkins sister) recently spoke with Power 92 and took the time to clear some things up, especially over the allegations that Chris’ former step-father Donnelle Hawkins abused his mother Joyce.

The California DA is expected to take over the case today and word should come down on possible additional charges against Brown this afternoon – who at this point is charged with one felony count of criminal threats.
Brown is currently free on $50,000 bond and is due in court March 5th.
Per LA County rules – Brown’s mugshot will NOT be released. And per the CA Victims Protection Act, neither will pictures of Rihanna.
A statement from Brown is expected today.

You are absolutely right about putting yourself in their shoes. I remember the last fight I had w/ my mate & lord knows tht if it was out in public things would seem crzy.
No one is perfect and things happen. Us females tend to think & feel that we can be all up in a guys face, smacking him, punching him, pushing him & expect him not to hit us & sometimes DEMAND & DARE him to hit you! B/c u think men aren’t supposed to hit a female. But if you’re bad enough to throw a punch then you’re bad enough to take one even if it’s from a guy.
It’s an unfortunate situation, but it’s a lesson learn for both ppl.
something about this whole situation just doesn’t ring true to me, since the day i heard about it i’ve felt that we are really in for a big surprise. i see on the news everday about how everyone is pulling away from chri and supporting rihanna but i have a feeling alot of people are going to owe this young man an apology when it’s all said and done. i am in no way condoning a woman being abused IF that’s what really happened, i’ve been in an abusive relationship so i know what its like to be in constant fear for your life and the freedom of getting away from that person but for some reason with this situation i truly believe we will in the end find out that she made alot of this up
