Never one to do anything small, DIDDY is taking his next album to a whole new art-form – film.
His first solo disc since 2007’s Press Play, Diddy described Last Train To Paris to MTV last week, saying the disc is high on concept and one hell of a storyline.
Last Train is conceptually the tale of Diddy (who’s now apart of a band which includes two female vocalists) and a mystery woman. Think the classic storyline of a really rich & famous boy meets banging girl, rich boy bags girl, girl goes on tour with boy, boy cheats on girl, girl bounces, boy can’t let go and finally tries to get girl back.
Still with me? Well if you need a little bit more clarity with that, you’re in luck. Diddy (nee Sean Combs) is giving you a film to accompany the album.
But according to Mr. Combs, Last Train To Paris isn’t going to be his Purple Rain – but rather more like his very own stylelized Streets Is Watching.
“It’s definitely going be an album you can seamlessly see. Not after the fact. When you get the album on that day, September 22, you will be able to see the whole album on your computer…You know how, when you on your computer and you’re listening to an album, you have your screen-saver on — instead of screen save, you’ll be able to see the album in motion. And the presentation of the album will be different from the videos,” Diddy explained.
And to show you just how serious Diddy is taking his whole acting thing, filming for the Last Train To Paris movie, begins in May.
“I’m out here in L.A. right now, meeting with directors. I’m looking for somebody who can do it within the budget and do it guerrilla style. I’m looking for the hot film student.”
Already the album is getting lots on online attention, as video of Diddy in the studio with T-Pain, Pharrell and others have already hit the net.
And check out the snippet of what’s expected to be one of the tracks from the album, ‘Hair Down.’
