LAPD STILL INVESTIGATING THE RIHANNA LEAKS & HOW THIS REALLY WORKS…

If you’re like us, you’re probably wondering what’s taking so long for the LAPD to find and plug this ‘leak’ that was the source of the publication of RIHANNA’S battered police photos

And the answer is: We still don’t know.

“They said they were looking into it vigorously,” LAPD spokesman Lt. John Romero said, referring to a statement made by an Internal Affairs commander at a meeting yesterday.

“We are not talking about the protocols because it will relate to this investigation,” he said, unwilling to divulge further details about investigative procedure.

And there’s still no word on any possible additional charges against Rih’s alleged attacker, longtime boyfriend CHRIS BROWN – who is currently only charged with one felony count of suspicion of criminal threats. (Brown is free on $50,000 bail and is due back in court March 5th).

But here’s the reality of the situation. MOST people are really only familiar with the legal system as it relates to Law & Order. And while Dick Wolf & co have done a lot to teach us how NOT to get caught (at least that’s what I’ve gotten from it – kidding – kinda), the real justice system is a slow moving machine.

We put in some calls to a few ’sources’ within the LAPD system (don’t ask) and they were very real with us.

“Look, this is just how it works. These kinds of cases take time. Even though the media and (probably) her fans want some sort of answers, things don’t move that fast.”

Our source – who we must note is NOT currently working on the case – says that it is possible that this case could drag well into the spring and even summer, depending on the level of cooperation.

“Look, the only way this thing will end quickly is if A. The DA doesn’t feel it has a case to get stronger charges. B. If the boy cuts a deal, other than that, have a seat, this is gonna take a while.”

So, there you have it. I guess we’re all going to have to be patient. Thoughts?
