TI’S ROAD TO REDEMPTION…AND COVERS BLENDER

We’re in the final stretch before TI (nee Clifford Harris) is to surrender himself to federal custody on weapons charges. And amazingly, MTV has chronicled TIP’s final days of freedom in the new series, TI’s Road To Redemption, which is set to preem tonight.

As he begins counting down the days to his impending March 2009 sentencing for weapons charges, Grammy-winning superstar T.I. finds himself at a remarkable crossroads. At the very apex of his career, he’s facing up to 30 years of jail time for an arrest stemming from his earlier life. However, as part of a deal worked out between his lawyers and the federal government, if he completes an amazing 1000 hours of community service during the year ending this March, that sentence may be reduced. At 27, finding himself at the very high- and low-point of his adult life, he’s seeking redemption in helping others avoid the mistakes he made. In the new docu-series T.I.’s Road To Redemption: 45 Days To Go cameras follow T.I.’s efforts to save himself by saving others. In order to communicate his message, he has to give each teenager a tough love lesson in life and show them the consequences of what could happen if they continue down the wrong path.

Although I didn’t know what to expect from the series which conceptually had the makings of many forced tender moments and hood glorification’s. But instead what I got was a painfully honest, and refreshingly sincere show. But the draw here is simple: Say what you want about TIP, speculate on what part of himself he had to sell off in order to get his unprecedented deal – But one thing is certain – this experience has changed him, for forever. That much it true. It is worth watch.

  2. I have to agree with you the show is very sincere and I really respect TI for what he is doing. He is impacting our troubled youth. I just caught the 1st episode on Fancast.com and it’s a real depiction of what the streets are like. Here is the link: I really think what TI is doing with this show is pretty incredible. It’s a tough time in his life but he’s doing a great thing by turning this negative time into a positive impact! I really respect him for that! I just caught the 1st episode on Fancast.com and he is impacting our endangered youth! Here is the link: http://blogs.bet.com/entertainment/staytuned/?p=466
