So looks like we can end the speculation about this huge outdoor concert OPRAH through for her 24th season opener.

After closing down Chicago’s Mag Mile for three days, Winfrey’s September 24th season premiere looks to be a big one. Along with an outdoor concert headlined by the BLACK EYED PEAS, O also welcomed JENNIFER HUDSON in her first performance since giving birth to her son last month. J-Hud, of course was accompanied by her fiance David Otunga Sr., performed her hits ‘Spotlight’ and ‘If This Isn’t Love’ along with her rendition of the Chaka/Whitney classic – ‘I’m Every Woman’. Though Hudson killed during sound check, she reportedly struggled though her actual performance and ultimately re-taped her entire performance.

Now we first reported that JAY-Z (who was in town to perform for an exclusive Samsung event) would be swinging by the show to perhaps partake in the concert. Well after getting some mixed intel, we’re now clear that Hov will be apart of the season opener, but just in another way.

Tomorrow (Wednesday, September 9th) Jay will sit down to tape an in-studio segment in support of his O Magazine interview. Video snippets from Oprah and Hov’s (nee Shawn Carter) tour through Marcy Projects will air during the show. The concert however, featured a different Jay. Veteran crooner (and O favorite) James Taylor took to the stage to perform.

Also joinging the party were country crooners Rascal Flats.
