In a bizarre incident this afternoon, British singer LEONA LEWIS was assaulted when a random fan walked up to her and punched her in the face.
The X-Factor (the British version of Americna Idol) alum was busy signing copies of her new book Leona, when a fan reporttedly performed the unprovoked attack. According to eyewitnesses, Lewis was sucker punched.
“My brother saw the whole incident. He [the attacker] walked up there with the book, she signed it and, as she looked up, he just punched her…He [my brother] actually heard the impact.”
Another eyewitness said the man actually seemed to find the whole thing humorous…
“She was running out with her hand over her eye, and I just saw a man on the floor. Suddenly the security jumped on him and they were trying to pull him out and he was just laughing. He thought it was funny.”
The man is now in custody. Lewis declined medical attention and her reps say although she’s quite shaken, she will be fine.

I hope she’s alright as well…
Probably the smartest thing she did though by not going to the ER. That way the photo of her face all swollen isn’t on the cover of some blog or tabloid.

What an idiot that guy is, she is so sweet and geninuley nice. Ruined it for others who never got signings.
