So yesterday I got a call about a sponsored screening of CHRIS ROCK’S new film Good Hair just for bloggers. Now you guys know I’ve been very high on this film for a while now and love love love all the promo it’s getting. So I was super-excited. But then I was told that following the screening I’d be treated to a wash, blow-out and style from a new upscale Urban salon in mid-town…And I was over the moon.
Now I won’t get too deep into my thoughts on the film (that will come tomorrow) – In the meantime you an check out Chris on OPRAH yesterday talking about hair – But I MUST tell you about the salon that made my night sooooo fly! And you know if I love something, I must SHARE IT!
Now ya’ll know – as with any sista – I can be obsessive about my hair. But lately I haven’t been taking such good care of it as I’ve been moving around so much. But the thing I found so great about this particular salon wasn’t the impressive spa-like set up. What made this night great – other than my fllllly hair – was the salon’s owner.
Jamie Clayton is a Cali native who’s been in the Beauty Industry for seventeen years. She started An’Jels flagship salon in Beverly Hills in 2003 and brought her professionalism and UpScale Urban Salon experience to mid-town. When I tell you I learned more about my hair last night than I have in several years.
Specializing in extensions as well as natural hair care, Clayton was able to explain to me not only the products she was using but more importantly why she chose them. Part of the reason I believe my hair turned out so well was the choice to use the Joico Hair Care System – yes, on my natural hair – which left it so moisturized and shiny even before any heat touched my scalp. No I won’t get into specifics but I will say this, I love love love my hair this morning. It feels great.
Thanks to Jamie, MeMi, Hovain and the entire staff at An’Jels Salon. Be sure to stop by and check them out at 37 W. 46th St (between 5th 7 6th). And tell them TFG sent you!
And shouts to all the other bloggers and personalities that were there!
Oh yes and the final question: Did I really shave the right side of my hair last night? Well tune into today’s Fly’s FIVE @5 to find out!
