Personally I think its time for R. KELLY to start looking at his retirement portfolio. Kelly has got one hell of a challenge ahead of him and for more than just the obvious reason. Music has changed dramatically since the days of 12 Play – and yes Robert Kelly is a significant reason for that, but when you can no longer set the trends do you really want to tarnish your legacy by following them?

Kellz should’ve long-since looked into other business ventures – do some TV spots, he’s always wanted to do film scoring. My point is there’s no reason why this man hasn’t branched out more by now. Especially with this stigma hanging over him – that isn’t likely to go away…

But since he hasn’t and he’s back with a new album, Untitled – which has ‘gimmick’ written all over it – allow us to help the Chicago native.

Top 5 Name Suggestions For R. Kelly’s Untitled Album…

5. When The Pi**in Stops – I had to get it out of the way…But could you imagine the disc opening with a cameo introduction from Dave Chappelle. It would show that Robert was in the end a good sport. And who wouldn’t buy that?

4. OLD School – Emphasis on ‘old’. Kelly’s music isn’t fresh anymore.

3. I Don’t Read, I F**K – We’re not sure who R. Kelly’s publicists are…In fact we’re convinced he is his own publicity department. But allowing that man to stand there and admit that he can barely read and then following it up with a classic ’sexytime’ charged performance the next night? Not the brightest marketing campaign…

2. Love Me, Please – From the over-reaching ‘Number One’ to the uninspired ‘Religious’ just about everything we’ve heard thus far from Kellz new album seem to be half-hearted attempts to recapture the Kelly magic…

1. K Thru 12 Play – Too far?

Here’s our point Mr. Kelly, it’s time to reinvent. You would’ve been better off with your comeback CD being a disc full of covers – You are the king of the killer remixes. You re-recording and remixing the classics? That has platinum written all over it. But alas, here’s all this new material, talking about the same old stuff – sex – and I’m not sure we want to hear that from you. At least not yet anyway.

And all jokes aside, he should’ve called the album Enigma. At least that way he could’ve played off the fact that he’s misunderstood. Then again, that’s a difficult word to spell…
