Some local officials are calling for Whitney’s dismissal, saying that covering herself in black paint went a little too far. Meanwhile some fans are outraged at the outraged and feel that since it was Halloween, Whitney should get a pass, as it was all in good fun.

So…Should she be fired?

  1. *don’t pull my black card* but it looks like it was done in good taste. she sprayed the whole body and perfected her costume. I don’t see anything wrong.

I would feel differently if she went as a slave or a character from a minstrel show, but she went as a famous black guy so the Body Paint seemed appropriate. If I decided to go as Eminem, then white (or peach) body paint would seem appropriate & I doubt that anyone would be blogging or talking about it.

  2. It’s not that serious. She was clearly in full costume. Full character with full body paint, the grill, the hair, the tatoos, and wig. It’s plain to see that she was dressing up as little wayne. In order for it to qualify as a “BLACKFACE” exploration, it must mock and exploited representation of blacks. Lil Waynes persona I’d far from that because he’s a noted WORLD WIDE ENTERTAINER. stop fishing for bullshit.

  3. Forgive the typos, damn iPhone is a bitch during speed typing! Lol

It was done in bad taste and if she was just another employee in some cubicle in a white collar office this would be a small time issue.

However, the fact of the matter is that she is a cheerleader on “America’s Team” the Dallas Cowboys. You have a responsibility to conduct yourself accordingly to what the team and what the league would feel is appropriate. You forfeit your right as the individual when you become part of a machine such as the NFL and the Dallas Cowboys.

The mixed blessing is now the Ft Hood situation which will (appropriately) take the attention away from this story. I just hope the Cowboy organization does something to recognize that their employee offended people and maybe a few of their fans and atone for it in some manner.

I’m black, and I think it’s funny as hell.
She wasn’t intendning it to be offensive towards the whole black race. I’m sure there are plenty of people that have drssed up as some of the top entertainers in the world, and she chose Lil Wayne. Andt pull it off of course she had to use body paint. At least she was in fullcosume. Who cares? This is trivial. She shouldn’t lose her job. She should probably apologize though to everyone who was offended, but I personally liked her costume.
