Looks like somebody got a call from OPRAH.

After famously thumbing her nose at the Academy of Arts And Sciences for the buzz surrounding her performance in the dark indie drama Precious, seems like MO’NIQUE is now (begrudgingly) singing a different tune.

“Any buzz, I’m appreciative of,” is what the comedian turned actor turned talk show host told People in a sit down last week at her LA home.

Last month the larger-than-life personality caused quite a stir when she reportedly said “…what does an Oscar mean? An Oscar means more work when you win it, and that means more money! I couldn’t eat that Oscar”, offending many and most importantly hanging a nagging cloud over the little movie that could.

Well since then you might notice that Mo’Nique has been absent from just about all of the major press and photo opps involving the Lee Daniels directed flick. And while neither of the films high-profile producers Winfrey or TYLER PERRY have made any public statement about Mo or the reported absurd $100,000 appearance fee she’s asking, there’s rumored tension.

Now in all fairness, Mo’Nique has been busy with her new nightly talk show on BET – which shoots in Los Angeles and makes travel difficult but something tells me there’s more to these rumors and Mo’s sudden change of heart.

I did have an opportunity to see Precious last night and I can say that despite how she feels about the award buzz, Mo’Nique gave the performance of her life.
