Just when I thought that USHER realized that Mother knows best and rekindled the managerial relationship with his mother, JONETTA PATTON, the two hit hard times–again. Word is Jonetta quit for a second time a few months ago because of his relationship with former record label exec, GRACE MIGUEL. Now Usher’s label, Jive Records is pushing the album Raymond Vs. Raymond back because Usher doesn’t have a stable team around him. Here what the NY Daily news says, “She felt as though if she didn’t end things when she did, it would permanently affect their personal relationship,” continues the source. Usher had apparently declared that he would manage himself, with the help of Miguel, but the label felt that “there was chaos in the camp.”

JILL SCOTT is having some legal issues as well with her label of a decade, Hidden Beach Recordings. Jill’s rep contends that the label’s lawsuit “has no legal merit” and “misrepresents” Jill’s relationship with the label.
“The lawsuit filed on February 3, 2010 by Hidden Beach Recordings against Jill Scott has no legal merit and misrepresents the history of Ms. Scott’s relationship with the label. Jill Scott has the legal right to terminate her recording contract with Hidden Beach Recordings under California’s 7-year rule, where she had been a recording artist for more than 10 years,” the statement reads. “During her time at Hidden Beach Recordings, she released several highly successful albums. At this time, with many creative projects in the works which include music, film and television roles and product development, Ms. Scott looks forward to continuing to further her artistry and building the Jill Scott brand in other creative environments.”
